Do we need to replace our fire alarm panels?
No. AlarmPulse reads each panel through an interface it already has: its loop protocol, printer / event port, Modbus TCP, alarm transmitter, or simple relay contacts for common fire and fault. Panels of any make and age can share one screen.
Does AlarmPulse replace the fire alarm control panel?
No. AlarmPulse is ancillary monitoring and building-systems integration software. Detection, alarm signalling, sounder control and evacuation remain with the panel and its approved installation.
Do we have to open a port at our site?
No. PanelTunnel and the site agent connect out from the site, over SSH or HTTPS / MQTT with TLS. Nothing at the site listens, and a panel left on a public address is flagged.
What happens if the internet link to a site drops?
AlarmPulse names the panel it can no longer hear on every screen and records the outage as an event. The site agent keeps events on its own disk and resends them in order when the link returns; they are tagged "found on resync", never passed off as live.
Can it run without the internet at all?
Yes. The Single Building edition runs on one Windows PC with no internet, starts with Windows and restarts itself.
Can our building management system read the alarms?
Yes: a Modbus TCP server, a BACnet/IP device and MQTT, with allow-listed clients. A versioned REST API (v1, with an OpenAPI description) serves your own dashboards.
What happens when the licence expires?
AlarmPulse keeps monitoring every configured panel. Only configuration changes are held until the licence is renewed.
How do I sign in?
Use the sign-in box on the home page with the username and password your administrator gave you. Engineers and administrators also enter a code from an authenticator app. Forgotten passwords are reset by your site administrator.
